Recycle to the Final Four
This sustainability program engages local Dallas-area schools, hotels and corporations to participate in a recycling drive during November and December. Participants will collect plastic bottle caps (from soda/water bottles, laundry detergent, any plastic bottle cap). This program is intended to be an opportunity for the community to contribute to the greening of the Women’s Final Four activities. This will also be a valuable learning tool, bringing to life the materials that are recycled in a highly visible way.
Not only is this a great way to get the community excited about recycling, items collected will be sent to Connor Sport in Michigan and will be used in the manufacture of the Women’s Final Four Court.
Recycled materials collected from schools, hotels and corporations in the Dallas community will be used in High Impact Polyethylene Grooves that are a part of the locking system of the Connor Sports QuickLock court. The court will be made of more than 250 4 feet x 7 feet panels of Northern Hard Maple sourced from The Nature Conservancy’s Two Hearted River Forest Reserve in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula measuring 60 feet x 120 feet for a total of 7,200 square feet and will be installed by Connor Sports in the American Airlines Center.
Thank you to the following groups for participating:
